Il software è disponibile da sorgenti di terze parti, così come dalle sorgenti software predefinite di Ubuntu. Per installare software da sorgenti di terze parti, è necessario aggiungerle all'elenco delle sorgenti disponibili.

 Aggiungere solamente repository software da fonti fidate!
 I repository di terze parti non vengono controllati dal gruppo di sicurezza di Ubuntu e potrebbero contenere programmi potenzialmente dannosi.

To add a repository:

 Open <app>Software &amp; Updates</app> via the Activities search bar.

 Selezionare la scheda <gui>Altro software</gui>.
 </item>
 <item>
 Fare clic su <gui>Aggiungi</gui> e inserire l'indirizzo APT del repository. Questo dovrebbe essere reperibile dal sito web del repository e dovrebbe essere simile a:

 Fare clic su <gui>Aggiungi sorgente</gui> e inserire la propria password nella finestra Autenticazione.

 Close the <app>Software &amp; Updates</app> window. <app>Ubuntu Software</app> will then

 Most repositories provide a signing key to be able to verify downloaded packages.

 download and install the signing key (GPG key).
